ABOUT E10 ELECTRICAL
Foundation
UK Training & Qualification
I am Edwin Swain (E10 Founder), a UK-born and UK-trained electrician. I completed a time-served apprenticeship over four and a half years, combining classroom-based learning with extensive on-site experience. During my training I was fortunate to work across a wide range of electrical environments, including domestic housing, commercial premises, industrial units, and agricultural sites. This exposure also included work on renewable technologies, heating controls, CCTV, fire alarm systems, and security installations. This broad foundation has given me a strong understanding of electrical systems, safe working practices, and the importance of doing the job properly from first fix through to testing and certification.
Gibraltar Experience
I have lived and worked in Gibraltar for the past five years, a place that has become important to me both personally and professionally. Electrical work in Gibraltar presents its own unique challenges when compared to the UK, from building layouts and space constraints to local working practices and expectations. These are challenges I genuinely enjoy, and ones that come with experience rather than theory. Working in this environment has further developed my approach to electrical work: practical, adaptable, and focused on delivering safe, compliant installations supported by thorough testing and clear communication.
E10 Electrical
Conception
E10 Electrical & Testing was conceived during my time working in Gibraltar, bringing together the strong foundations of UK training with hands-on local experience. The aim is simple: to provide reliable, high-quality electrical work with a strong emphasis on safety, testing, and workmanship, and to offer a service people feel confident contacting and recommending.
